What do you think is the #1 Roadblock to an Entrepreneurs Success?

Replies to This Discussion

Fear of what might be. That fear may stop someone in their tracks and keep them from making that one move that may pay off huge and help them live their dream.

Owner-dependence. Treating the business like a job, instead of an asset. It's easy to fall prey to the limiting belief that your business has to depend on you in order to succeed. In fact, growing a business to shift away from owner-dependence is the key to the maximizing the value of the business.

Thinking there is only one roadblock. There may be one or two today, but several others ahead, and vary by the person, their knowledge, experience, etc. We get discouraged and overwhelmed by the many things we want, and have to do.

Top contenders would be:
1. Lack of a plan
2. Failure to set priorities
3. Unwilling or unable to ask for, or seek help and assistance
4. Lack of money
5. Lack of resources
6. Lack of confidence
7. Overwhelmed
8. Lack of time

I could go on!

Hello Corinne, this is my first contribution - i wish to share a perspective that i feel will help...
one of the #1 road blocks is disbelief consciousness - even asking a question like 'what is the #1 road block fuels the all too pervasive lacking in belief...simply look to the responses to your question to confirm - the question posed is actually fueling the opposite of inspiration as it invites discussion that itself is an obstical...

with belief consciousness, a plan will present itself - with communicating your belief to others, allies will be formed...with living inside a consciousness that 'knows' the end result will be met and there is 'gratitude' for this transformation taking place, the end result will be met - perhaps i might recommend the question being asked as 'what is the #1 formula for success?'...i imagine the responses will sound a little different...

remember, Mother Teresa refused to take part in any 'anti war' rallies...she simply stated that she would be delighted to fully invest herself into a 'peace rally' though...interesting - once we fully adopt the self talk of success, we find ourselves seeking solutions vs dodging the obsticals...very powerful indeed...

Negative thinking. Letting others' doubts influence your confidence.

Hi Matt

I didn't read your response until I had posted my own, but this is very much what I meant in my very brief response.

Matt,

Had you considered that the goal of the question could focus on overcoming obstacles, defeating defeating beliefs, opinion sharing, and ultimately growing through others experiences? Though we can maintain positive affirmations and dwell on success I believe we need to be also cognisant of the past, cognisant of potential roadblocks whether that be mental or physical and learn from each other and ourselves constantly.

Thank you all for your imput. I find it inspiring and interesting..... Keep um comming!

Finding and connecting with your target market. We're in a global marketplace, even if you're in small businessp- that world is super competitive and potential customers/clients are saturated with choices. Breaking through to the real decision maker amidst all the noise is a huge challenge.
